testing out manga studio

youve seen this image before but for an experiment i took the image into manga studio, created a new layer and proceeded to make a line art layer. the reason im doing this is i have never used manga studio before. and some of my drawings have the potentional to look really nice or deserve to be neetend up atleast . 

After creating a rough layout of line. i thought i can actually take this a bit further and i can open up photoshop and put some quick colour on this. i used very similar techniques that i did with the background painter project but not to the level of detail.

After all this was just a test but i know from using this i can go over my sketches and bring them to life even further. and you never know you could see plenty more works of art with this style in the future

E4 ESTING. the idea for thsi project was to create tv ident for the channel e4. this was to help us get used to using flash. im quite happy with this. i know theres a lot more ot be done but i think its a nice start

amon and catwoman

after coming back from the london mcm expo and having so many great photos taken  the one that stands out for me was photo of my friend liz and my fiancee amy reinacting an event from the legend of korra. dressed as amon. liz decided to take  catwomans bending away! but catwoman doesnt have bending? the photo was so great i needed to draw it in my style.

life drawing on brown paper

life drawing for 14-11-12. as you can tell every wednesday I go to a local life drawing class. This time decided to use brown paper to break it up a little bit. it can get a little bit boring constantly drawing on white paper or just using the sketchbook. i  really enjoyed the drawings i produced tonight. but then again I always do I feel my drawings are  getting better every session witch is great.

illustrator background

I Know this looks like something a child  put together in MS Paint but this is my attempt at illustrator. for this project i had to create a background  thats split into layers so a character can interact with the enviroment.  you give me photoshop anyday of the week and ill rock that stuff, but my lord i have never felt so incompitent with a programme before. illustrator really had me beat, ill be happy if i never have to use it again but i know im not that lucky. i just hope over the next few projects something actually sticks  and i become almost good at it.

church sketch

this is a church opposite a cafe in cariff. i needed to draw some location stuff and this was perfect i sat outside the cafe orderd an americano and started sketching I used a brown pen and some grey tone kuracolor markers in a moleskine sketchbook.  im quite happy with the outcomee but there is an exagerated curve  on the windows...  coffe wasnt that good either.

20mins life drawing

These are from a life drawing session I go to at garth olwg life long learning centre they were 20mins each and i decided to use markers for these but in a slightly different way than i usually do. this was more blending than overlaying, I am very happy with how these turned out.

here are two  backgrounds where i had to produce day and night scene from a line art layouy, i think the day scene came out quite nicely but the night scene was really tricky and i didnt get the outcome i wanted. however i did learn a lot from this project and i believe i can apply these skills onto future projects.

charactet exploration

character exploration project, this was an oppertuninty for me to animate and record dialoque for my own character. this was a project that pushed every one of my abilities within animation, i dont believe the outcome is a succsesul as it should be but I do believe my skills as an animator have clearly developed

figurative project

I was given a brief where i had to capture a push or pull lift or throw  and a walk. I went with a pull and a lift. this was an incredible test for me and i believe i struggled a lot. but I also feel  what I learned was invaluable

here i had to work with two other people to sync sound with music my section is the first 10 seconds

this was a character design project i came up with the idea of a young boy who wants to be a rock guitarist. for this project i had to produce expressions, poses, turnarounds and a in-situation picture
